Chabuya Ramen

Tried the new ramen place on sawtelle, Chabuya. I think it is a chain from Japan. The soup is a pork/shoyu mix. I had the cha shu ramen and gyoza. The gyoza were not really gyoza but shu mai folded and cooked like gyoza, not very good. The ramen started off great, the cha shu was tender and delicious. The noodle is hosomen (thin) and very good. The soup.... I really wanted to like it but it was too strong for me. I drank 2 glasses of water but it really hit me hours after leaving, my throat was dying for more water. Good place but not for me.

Lunch at Torafuku

Had lunch at Torafuku. I had the Kurobuta Pork Cutlet. This place has Kamado rice, rice that is cooked in large metal pots. The kitchen is open and the pots are featured in the front. This is a great place for washoku (traditional Japanese food) on the westside. Limited menu for lunch but it's all you can eat rice!!

They also plan to sell a custom ND filter in Japan for the SX-70 adaption to 600 film. The price for the Polaroid One is about $90.00 US, no price on the ND filter.

Beard Papa

The Japanese cream puff chain in Hollywood! We went to Beard Papa's and had some delicious cream puffs, too bad it's at the terrible Hollywood and Highland shopping complex.
